It is situated on a 13,000-acre plot of land. In fact, Althorp is much larger than Diana’s royal quarters in Kensington Palace.

Diana was not a particularly bright student. She briefly attended finishing school in Switzerland before relocating to London to live with roommates.

During this time, she worked a variety of regular jobs. Diana, for example, worked as a part-time nanny for the Robertsons, an American family. She helped out around the house by doing things like washing dishes, picking up toys, doing laundry, and watching their toddler son.

Diana also worked at the Young England School in London’s Pimlico neighborhood as a teaching assistant. When she and Charles were dating, this was her job.

The royal family thought Princess Diana was a suitable mate for Prince Charles

Diana had met Charles several times prior to their courtship thanks to the Spencers’ royal connections. In fact, in the late 1970s, Charles dated Diana’s older sister Sarah.

In 1980, Diana and Charles began dating. Because Diana was such a good match for a future king, the royal family pushed Charles to marry her. The royals did have a 13-year age gap, but it did not appear to be a problem for them.

Diana was also chosen over Camilla Parker Bowles, Charles’ ex-girlfriend. In the early 1970s, Charles and Camilla began dating, but his family opposed their marriage because she was not aristocratic enough. Of course, as many royal fans know, Charles and Camilla married in 2005, several years after they first met.

Diana’s net worth was estimated to be around $31.5 million when she died in a car accident in 1997. Much of that money came from the $22.5 million settlement she received from Charles during their divorce. She was also given a salary of $600,000 per year after her divorce.

Prince William and Prince Harry, Diana’s two sons, received a large portion of her estate. They each received around $16 million from her estate when they turned 30.
